The batter was thick and i didn’t feel the cheese in it.
PEPPER BEEF RICE IN STONE POT (Php295)
It’s served in a stone pot to retain the hot temperature. You have to mix it quickly so the rice at the bottom won’t stick. This is good! No wonder this is one of Watami’s mostly ordered.
ASSORTED SKEWERS (Php385)
Pork and enoki mushroom, chicken thigh, beef and spring onion roll, chicken liver and chicken wings…They are equally good and juicy.
SIRLOIN STEAK ON HOT PAN ( US PRIME RIB) (Php 625) 200g
Served medium rare, but you can still sear it to your preferred doneness in the hot stone
SUMO WRESTLER HOTPOT WITH SPICY MISO SOUP (Php495)
It comes with sukiyaki pork, shrimps, mussels and squid. The miso soup is tasty and satisfying, but the serving is small for the price.
We ordered for additional ramen set for Php 195 that comes with extra miso soup and egg.
GREEN CITRUS GREEN TEA (Php95)
Disappointed with this drink. It tasted more of water with calamansi..
FINAL VERDICT:
The price starts from Php200 making some of the dish affordable. But to be honest, the serving size is small. The tendency is for us to order more dish so the total bill is just the same with other Japanese restaurants. As for the food, other Japanese restaurants usually focus on one specialty. Watami’s menu indeed has a wide variety. From Japanese sushi, skewers, gyoza, tempura, ramen, tonkatsu..Name it and it’s all in the menu! If you are in a group with different Japanese cravings, I would suggest this place so anyone can order what they like. Using the premiere card would make it affordable!
