We can’t deny that when we first hear the word “ukokkei”, Ukokkei Ramen Ron first comes to our mind. Ukokkei is actually a rare chicken in Japan that brings a distinct flavor and aroma of the broth. Not only does it taste exceptional, but it’s believed that they are nutritious.

Now, you don’t have to go all the way to Taguig or Makati City just to have a bowl of ukokkei ramen. There is also a good ramen restaurant in Mandaluyong City that can satisfy our ukokkei cravings. Ramen Daisho serves the same recipe as Ukokkei Ramen Ron, where the Japanese Master Chef Giantsu Yasuhiko was also behind it.

MISO CHASUMEN RAMEN LARGE ( Php 670)

The large is actually good for 2 persons to share. It’s still manageable by one very hungry person. They told me it was also good.

SHOYU RAMEN LARGE ( Php 620)

I have a taste with the Miso broth and Shoyu. I prefer the miso.

TONKOTSU RAMEN ( Php 350)

rich, milky pork bone broth soup with Hakata style noodles

My Order- This one is their best seller. No doubt indeed! The broth is very rich and creamy. I slurp it down to the last drop!

They had an “unlimited noodles” promo last Christmas for an additional of Php20. I hope they could bring it back 🙂

FINAL VERDICT:

Ramen Daisho serves authentic ukokkei style ramen. If you are in the area, you don’t have to go far and brave the traffic somewhere else because Ramen Daisho equally serves a good bowl of ramen. The recommended for me was the Tonkotsu ramen and Miso ramen. I heard that they serve good gyoza and chahan. I will be back to try it 🙂
