Another road trip set and we decided to go to Tagaytay and have some fresh air. We are looking for a nice restaurant with the scenic view of Taal. I’m not addicted to the volcano itself, but the overall beauty and ambiance makes the feeling very relaxed. Also, just by being far away from the pollution in Manila is always better.
We all know that Bag of Beans is very famous. Their fifth branch is named after the owner itself, Charito. We decided to give it a try.
There is no doubt that the rustic, chic and flawlessly designed interiors are well kept. But more importantly, let me introduce you their food.
COMPLIMENTARY BREAD
Soft, freshly baked
BLUEBERRY PANCAKE (Php 250)
The pancakes are fluffy.
CRISPY PATA (Php 650)
Seasoned, boiled, then deep fried…this is why the pork is crunchy and tender
BANGUS ALA POBRE (Php 550)
The panfried bangus is well seasoned. Besides that it is very big, it is also tasty.
They also dishes which comes with plain rice.
GRILLED TUNA BELLY WITH CREAMY PESTO SAUCE (Php 480)
Nicely grilled tuna belly topped with the creamy pesto sauce. Yummy!
PORK CHOP IN MUSHROOM SAUCE
This one is my favorite. The porkchop is very tender and flavorful. The creamy mushroom sauce complemented the overall dish.
We are too full, but I heard that their blueberry cheesecake is a must try. I just had it to-go. It was nice and not too sweet. Order the frozen one because that is their specialty. Good thing the server told us that there are 2 kinds of blueberry cheesecake here.
FINAL VERDICT:
The total experience here is excellent. The serving of the food is good for sharing. The ambiance is also very nice.
