Hanamaruken

I first got curious on Hanamaruken when we saw this ramen house in Osaka, Japan. I didn’t get the chance to try it there so I was happy when I knew that it’s also here in Manila.

The place has a combination of white and blue colors with wooden tables which is very pleasant to look at.

Hanamaruken Ramen is known for their shoyu tonkotsu ramen. I tried the spicy version of their ramen.

Spicy Tobanjan Ramen (Php 300) spicy_hanamaruken The tobanjan paste makes the ramen spicy. It includes naruto, green onions and thin slices of meat.

Curry Tan Tan Mien ( Php 320)tantan_hanamaruken

We are hesitant to order this at first because of the word “curry”. Good thing we still tried it because the broth is very rich in flavor and the consistency of the soup is not too thick. The Tan Tan Mien always comes with minced meat.

Aji-Tamago ( Php 50)tamago_hanamaruken

Aji-Tamago (Marinated soft boiled egg) is not included in their ramen but you can order for it separately. Their version of the egg yolk part is cooked on the side and not too runny in the center. Others prefer their Aji-Tamago to be super runny. I like to put it in my ramen so it will have more flavor.

Happiness Rice Bowl ( Php 250 )happiness bowl_hanamaruken

We intentionally leave space for their rice bowl because I saw a lot of good reviews. We tried the Happiness Rice Bowl because the other rice bowl uses pork belly so it may be a too fatty for me. This one uses pork rib. It’s indeed happiness in a bowl! The pork rib is very tender and flavorful. It kind of resembles adobo.

FINAL VERDICT:

The place has a neat and relaxing feeling. Their ramen is not oily as it looks. Don’t forget to leave space for your tummy to try their Happiness Rice Bowl. On my next visit, I will try their Signature Happiness Ramen!
