Originally named “Wu Maru”, Uma Uma Ramen was established in 1953 by the father of the current President, Masahiko Teshima. Uma Uma is actually a Japanese word for tasty. It is made according to a family recipe to achieve the robust and aromatic tonkotsu stock.

What made it even more interesting is the fact that their ramen is MSG-free, using only natural ingredients. Currently, they already have two branches: S Maison, Mall of Asia Complex and Uptown Parade, which is the one we visited.

CHICKEN KARAAGE (Php 160)

The chicken is bland… 🙁

UMA UMA RAMEN (Php 360)

This one is recommended to us because it is their best seller. It comes with chasiu, spring onions, black fungus, spicy miso and egg. Despite that, it is MSG-free. It is still flavorful coming from the natural umami of the broth.

TAN TAN MEN (Php 390)

Sesame base, minced pork, chili oil, white onion, egg

This one is delicious! This is our favorite! It has less broth… and the texture is more like a saucy noodle. It’s very tasty and fulfilling! I’ll come back for this one!
